You might have heard the term “exotic restaurant” being thrown around, perhaps when in work and casually eavesdropping on your colleagues’ conversations (come on, we all do it!). Exotic is such a broad word especially when used to describe a restaurant and it can mean many possible things depending on your individual lifestyle.
Usually, when somebody says that they are visiting an exotic restaurant, they mean one that is out of their comfort zone, perhaps with food from a different country. Chicken and fries might be exotic to people from some countries in the world although perhaps, to you, not so much. When I imagine an exotic restaurant, I picture one that serves Spanish, Thai and African food with new ingredients that I’ve never tried before but as stated previously, this is relevant to everyone.
No matter what you see fitting into this bracket of exotic, it’s really worth stepping out of your comfort zone from time to time and finding food that is brand new to you. If you are one of those people who always goes to the same restaurant and even orders the same meal from the menu every single time, stop it. Variety is the spice of life and by not trying new things, you are staying away from tastes that could quickly become your new favorite.
Why not set yourself a challenge for at least a year, where you have to try 1 new exotic restaurant every month or so? Make this fun by dining with family and friends and you are sure to gain a whole bunch of new experiences too. You can find yourself some exotic restaurants in Canada by searching only. Websites like TripAdvisor are really beneficial in finding places to eat and you can usually find menus of most websites online too.
